The Aqualizer

The Aqualizer is a temporary, disposable diagnostic splint used for relief, diagnosis and treatment of TMD. The water in the Aqualizer will balance and equilibrate the patient’s occlusion giving them fast relief in most cases. Most patients get relief in 20 minutes to half an hour, although highly acute patients may have to wear the Aqualizer off and on for a day or two to experience relief from their symptoms. If a patient does not experience relief from their TMD symptoms, the cause of the pain and symptoms may not be a dental primary and diagnosis needs to broaden. A night guard or therapeutic permanent splint can be made by using the Aqualizer to take a bite registration that will keep the patient in balanced occlusion.
